Silver Star Mountain Resort
Silver Star Mountain Resort is situated 20 km (12 miles) northeast of Vernon in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia. Silver Star is a scenic, year-round family vacation destination featuring plenty of snow during winter, numerous activities during summer and a village with character.
Two mountain faces, Vance Creek and Putnam Creek, are blanketed with an average annual snowfall of 20 feet (240 in), providing an average snow pack of 245 cm (8 ft). The snow is groomed to perfection with plenty left over for the powder hounds, especially in the 300 acres of open bowl or glade terrain. Vance Creek, the south face, is mainly intermediate and novice terrain with a few expert options accessed from the summit. Putnam Creek, the north face, is home to some of the most challenging terrain found anywhere. Expert runs with names like freefall, drop through narrow gullies and chutes. There are 11 double black diamond runs.

Skiing and boarding are what Silver Star is best known for, but there are many other activities offered. Some examples are professionally guided snowmobile tours, sleigh rides, dog sledding expeditions, swimming at the Aquatic Centre, and tubing at Tube Town (Western Canada's steepest most thrilling tube ride).
