<<< Tip for Buyers >>>

If you want to see all the listings sorted oldest to newest, take a look at "View by Number" on the Buyers page. It displays the listings by listing number - the newest listings are at the bottom.

Home Staging: there are many books and TV shows that deal with improving the look of your home with selling in mind. It makes sense that a small investment of time and money can result in an increased chance of selling… there is no doubt that presentation and curb appeal count.

There are home staging companies that advertise on OKHomeseller:

The house is sold.
It actually sold in 6 days from when it was posted. I wanted to wait until the subjects were officially signed off which was yesterday. I am thrilled as I got close to asking price and the buyer saw it on the website in Houston, Texas!   I would be very happy to post a reference for you.  I have told everyone about your service. The photos were awesome, the sign is professional looking and the website is fast and ergonomic.
You guys rock.

Issue #1 - (April 7th, 2008)

We're starting a newsletter to let you know what we're up to at OKHomeseller. We aren't sure how often we'll update the newsletter but we'll mark the banner on the homepage as updated when we do.

We've made numerous changes to the website in the last year. In 2007 we introduced a new look to all of our pages. It had been years since we made a significant change to the look of the website. In making these changes we wanted to be sure to keep the site user friendly and easy to navigate - we're happy with how it turned out.

We are now adding an OKHomeseller watermark to the bottom right-hand corner of all photos on the website. We did this reluctantly but we needed to stop one of our competitors from stealing photos from the website.

Our most recent change is a new way to browse listings. The new function pinpoints all of our listings on a Google Map. Similar to our current Street Map (that shows the location of a single listing) this new function displays all of our listings - you can then zoom in and out, move the map around, click on a marker to see more info and also click through to see the full OKHomeseller listing. To check this out go to View by Map.

We are always looking to improve the OKHomeseller website and our service. If you have any suggestions on how we could improve things, feel free to let us know.

There seemed to be a slowdown in the Real Estate Market in the last quarter of 2007. There has been much speculation as to what will happen with the market and house prices this year and in the years to come. We won't speculate on that but we will tell you that in just over two months of 2008 we have had 60 listings sell off the website - an increase compared to the same period in 2007.

Our expansion into the Kamloops region continues to be successful. In Kamloops and area we now have over 50 active listing, and the sold numbers have climbed to 64%. We also welcome Jill, another excellent photographer, to the OKHomeseller team to help us with Kamloops Photo Tours.

Realtors... feel the pinch?
You see and hear more TV and radio ads, telling us why we need a realtor.  Our favourite one is where the potential buyers show up at the door... and the seller is not prepared (by the way this can also happen when you have a realtor).  Anyway, so I guess the message is:  "if you are in the habit of answering the door in your bathrobe while pulling your chest hair off with tape ... then you should get a realtor." It does beg the question, do realtors think of the typical homeowner in this way?

We hope you've enjoyed this first newsletter. If you have any suggestions for the newsletter… tips for buyers or sellers or interesting information related to For Sale by Owner or real estate in general, feel free to send us an email with your suggestions.
